The Autogard 400 Series is designed to meet the need for a high- and low-speed, free-wheeling torque limiter. It differs from earlier ball detent designs by using two sets of balls on concentric pitch circles. Features include a unique reverse-to-reset mechanism, torque capacity up to 220,000 in-lbs (24,860 Nm) and shaft sizes up to 6 inches (150 mm). Regal Rexnord now recommends the enhanced Autogard F400 Series design for new applications.
